At UNF Avalon, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. We offer a range of volunteer opportunities for individuals who are passionate about supporting Ukrainian culture, helping others, and making a positive impact in our community. Volunteering with us is a great way to connect with others, develop new skills, and contribute to meaningful projects that help preserve and promote Ukrainian heritage.
How You Can Get Involved:
- Cultural Events and Festivals: Volunteers help organize and run cultural events, such as Ukrainian festivals, community celebrations, and holiday events. They play an essential role in making these events a success by helping with setup, registration, coordination, and more.
- Language and Education Programs: Volunteers are needed to support our educational programs, such as Ridna Schkola (Ukrainian Language School), by assisting with language classes, tutoring students, and helping with class materials. Volunteers are also needed to support workshops and cultural and educational programs for children and adults.
- Museum Support: As part of the development of NL’s First Ukrainian Museum, volunteers can help with various tasks, such as assisting in curating exhibits, maintaining collections, leading tours, and helping with special events at the museum.
- Community Outreach and Services: Get involved in programs that support newcomers, such as settlement assistance and employment support. Volunteers help connect newcomers to essential resources, provide language assistance, and offer guidance as they adjust to life in Canada.
- Administrative and Organizational Support: If you have skills in administration, marketing, or event planning, we can use your help! Volunteers assist with office tasks, update our website, manage social media accounts, and support fundraising efforts.
