Ukrainian National Federation (UNF) in Canada

The Ukrainian National Federation (UNF) is one of the most prominent Ukrainian-Canadian organizations that has been instrumental in preserving and promoting Ukrainian culture, heritage, and traditions across Canada. Founded in 1932, the UNF plays a pivotal role in fostering a sense of community, supporting Ukrainian newcomers, and promoting cultural exchange throughout the country. With branches in many provinces, the UNF organizes events, offers programs, and provides resources that connect Ukrainians to their roots and to each other.

The UNF focuses on a variety of services, including educational programs, cultural celebrations, social services, and advocacy for the Ukrainian-Canadian community. The Federation also plays an essential role in maintaining the Ukrainian language and culture through schools, cultural events, and language programs. Their mission is to create a vibrant and engaged Ukrainian-Canadian community that celebrates its heritage while contributing to the broader Canadian society.

History of UNF Avalon

The Ukrainian National Federation Avalon (UNF Avalon) was officially registered in 2023 with the goal of supporting and developing the Ukrainian community on the Avalon Peninsula, part of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. This organization’s establishment was a response to the growing number of Ukrainians immigrating to the region and a desire to preserve Ukrainian culture, language, and traditions in a new land.

UNF Avalon was founded to support newcomers, organize cultural events and educational programs, and create opportunities for active community life. The organization is actively working on developing a Ukrainian language school, cultural workshops, and celebrating Ukrainian traditions such as Christmas, Easter, and other important community events.

Since the center was officially registered, UNF Avalon has organized a variety of cultural and social events that strengthen the bonds among Ukrainians and help newcomers integrate into Canadian society.
